Yes, but.....did the selector rod change for the metal acorn levers, from that used with plastic acorns, or did they just add the bush to suit the metal acorn?

The later selector rod is different to the early one. The early one can't have the bush fitted, if that were the case the plastic acorn gearlevers would become obsolete because you could just fit the bush to the selector rod and use the all metal gearlever.
