General schock question

Hi guys

Just a general question not related to a Rover!

I'm
Getting a from shock replaced will the dealership do a front end wheel alignment after fitting the new schock or will I have to request one?

Cheers!

Hi Luke,

I would just ask is it part of their normal routine, and if not, then you'll need to ask for one.

Ron.

Because they run best with zero toe in they're one of the few cars you dont need special tools to set the angle on. I've never managed to get a garage to actually tackle the alignment on mine so i ended up having to tinker with it myself...

Hi, It depends. What car is it? Is the shocker part of the suspension, like a MacPherson
strut? If yes, then they should do geometry check.

It's a Holden! I called the dealership and they said they do the allignment as part of putting in a new shock! What they say and what they do are too different things so I shall find out tomorrow night!

They will have no choice but to do it as Holden same as Vauxhall --GM when strut undone it leaves brake and hub on bottom arm--so as said will need camber and
tracking check+ reset
