Has anyone used MEV Spares in Marsden, Kent who are also on eBay as jumble master for new front Brake imperial calipers?

MEV Spares are at Bell Farm, Headcorn Road, Smarden, Kent TN27 8PN. They specialise in classic car parts.
I believe only one company which is in Kidderminster, and sells only to the trade, now manufacture new brake calipers for the P6 2000 but do not know if these are the ones sold by MEV Spares.

Does anyone know if the new calipers sold by MEV Spares (jumble master on eBay) are good ones rather than cheap replicas and does anyone have experience of dealing with them?

Thanks Tony

I purchased new front calipers and pads from MEV about a month ago and they are very good.

Personally l get my old calipers/cylinders reconditioned, in my case by Past Parts in Suffolk. This means you're getting the original quality components future-proofed with stainless steel linings.....etc.
Brand new components are of such questionable quality these days that they hardly seem worth bothering with. Not that l'm denigrating the U.K. made items (or MEV Spares) but are they manufactured from scratch or assembled from imported parts? It's a minefield out there.
I bought a pair of rear discs from a well-known supplier a couple of years back which upon inspection turned out to be less than perfect. As yet untried but l have spoken to another forum member who had had issues too, though obviously discs are less open to reconditioning than calipers or cylinders.

It's definitely Caveat Emptor when making your choices.

I bought 'new' front discs for my 3500S some years ago. Mechanic fitting them said probably doubtful as he noted Chinese writing on them. Front brake judder from new and these discs replaced within the year with other set from Rimmer. No problems with these. I have bought front and rear callipers from Wynn's and Rimmers with no problems.

Reconditioned original calipers are far better than new as they are stainless lined. In principle in practical terms they'll last forever with only new seals required. I would not buy new parts made to an uncertain specification and quality.

Hi, I bought a pair of front calipers from MEV (used them before) some months ago excellent price and so far no problems, fitted perfectly except for one thing, the hole for the threaded insert on the caliper for the short metal brake pipe was too deep to make a seal and the brake fluid poured out from here when I bled the system. My friendly garage in Hunsdon found two longer nuts (their last ones) in their kit and re-using the two connectors from the other ends made two new short pipes which did the trick. Garage said the pipes were quite rusty and they would have replaced them.
