Head compatability

Harvey p6 to the rescue again! Many thanks. When I bought it I was told the 2200 head has valve seat recession and a cold compression test shows 115 at cyl 1, then 60, 50 and 70. I know of a good (I think) 2000 head so thought it might be a cheaper option.

You might notice a slight loss of performance compared to a good 2200 head because of the slightly smaller valves, but I doubt that tbh.

I feel like both 2200 heads tend to drop valve seats more than the smaller valves 2000 heads. I run a 2000TC head on a 2200 bloke on my car. I tried looking for a 2200 head but only seemed to come across damaged ones.

I have a 2000SC head on a 2200SC block.. feels rather perky compared with a standard 2000SC, and never had any problems with it.

Interesting, I know the edge of the valves on the TC head overlap the cylinder of the 2000 block. Are the 22SC valves smaller? Maybe you've just got lucky.
