Hello.

I have at last got around to joining the club and should have done so far sooner. I have been involved with numerous classic cars and other classic interests for many decades so it's certainly a hobby or perhaps even a way of life that I find most rewarding. :)

Currently I have no P6 to my name :( and nor have I owned one in the past, but I now feel the time is right. Hopefully I would like to track down a very decent Series I TC model or at a stretch a very early SII TC.

My current classics are a 1971 Triumph Vitesse Mk2 convertible in lovely condition and an equally stunning 1967 Sunbeam Alpine SV GT. Much to the shock of my classic car friends I have said that it is the Alpine that will make way for the correct P6- they really do think I am completely mad; however the lure of the P6 has been gaining strength over the last year or so.

We have travelled throughout Europe in the Vitesse, so that car really does have a significance for us.

I thought of running three classics again, but having tried to do that previously it's not for me  so P6 and Vitesse is the way forward.

Based in East Sussex, I am chuffed that the Southern National will be at Brooklands in 2018.

Many thanks.

Richard.

welcome to the rover classic cars section. take your time choosing one to buy as not all are good underneath. no doubt you have already read where to look and what for. issues such as overheating etc. don't rush to but as every now and again a decent one will crop up.

Welcome. if you need a hand searching just ask. I know from the current state of my own car where the rotty bits are!

Just so you're aware, this is an independent site, not connected to or run by any of the clubs.

Welcome to the forum. Glad to hear you drive your classics a lot. I have a 3500S which I drive all year round and love it!

Thanks Chris, I was not aware of that.

ghce - I should have clarified: a 2000TC or a very early 2200TC

Riddler - I'm convinced that driving classics on a regular basis is not only good for the soul but a must for classic cars to survive rather than remaining dormant.

Regards.

Richard.
