HI from the Netherlands

Hello everybody,
My name is peter, I live in the south of the netherlands, not far from Maastricht.
Three months ago i bought a Rover P6 3500 from the year 1974. Together with my two sons.
I already liked the car from my youth and now i am very happy to own one.
The car needs work and so far I managed most of it to do myself without a lot of external help.
Now I hope to learn and contribute in this forum.

Hope to speak to you soon
Cheers
Peter

Yes you are right. That's where i bought the car, at Hofman in Leek. For me a 300 km's drive but very worth it!

Hi Joop
Nice to meet you. Good that you live so close. Actually i live closer to Roermond than Maastricht.
I am still in the process of getting the Rover through the APK. I got the engine running fine so far, and I am working on the interior and the auto gearbox, which doesn't want to shift to TOP gear. See the thread Gearboxes and drive trains. And i need to fix some holes in the bottom due to rust. Do you have some advice on refurbishing the front seats fabric?
See the picture. I am looking for this fabric or something that gets very close?

Welcome here Peter! Looks like a lovely car.

The number of Dutch people are slowly increasing… Perhaps organise a meet up sometime soon? I live in Maastricht. :)

Hi thijs
I was not in this forum for quile a while. So i didnt see your message. Was busy with another classic car:)
My rover still didnt pass the APK because of the rear brakes of which the rear calipers need to be replaced. Didnt have time for it yet. So that is still a challenge. But would be nice to meet when i have the car on the road:)

The rear brakes can be quite a hassle, I can imagine why you haven't gotten to it yet! Once you get rolling we can certainly meet up.
