Did mine about a year ago and float is still full of petrol. Think it must be osmosis.thanks Chalky
Just fitted it and seems ok so far.
Checking the old one out that was almost completely full with fuel I could find no leak. Even to the point of putting powder on it and leaving for a few days, how does that happen?
Anyway will see how it goes

I wonder if they only open up a bit when hot. Makes sense, float warms up, microscopic crack opens, air inside float expands with heat, then air cools and sucks fuel back in through the crack. float cools and crack closes up again. it would be worth trying under a vacuum to see if the fuel leaks out again. Or place in a pan of hot water and see if the float bubbles.Did mine about a year ago and float is still full of petrol. Think it must be osmosis.
