Well I'm up for the challenge of a hotrod project, there will be no roof chopping or channelling, just the engineering challenge of fabricating back half chassis to possibly take a shortened Jag XJ40 rear axel, later version & better than the XJ6/e-type/s-type as has the outboard discs. The rover 215ci & BW35 box is ideal being a small block V8, there are so many useful forums for advice and great tips, also I know a large number of guys who have built some amazing cars from scratch using scrap, second hand parts & good old engineering basic skills with common sense. Anyway I've never had to hotwire an old classic so was just asking to know then I'm sure I would have been able to do it, I do take your point about HotRods are no walk in the park to build & yes there are many 'versions' out there that maybe should not be a Hot Rod but that's the fun of creating something from my own pair of hands I guess but without spending a fortune on 12 second spec chassis or state of the art ali suspension etc, just do it on a sensible 'safely built' budget, I'm lucky I can weld competent at bodywork/spraying...just gotta find an unloved morris minor now, do you know for any :wink:
