how long have you been hanging around the forum?

I was wondering how many of the original forum members are still using it.

Over the years I have seen people and cars come and go but there is a core of original forum members.

So when did you join up? I was surprised to read I joined May 2003. coming up for 12 years. where did the time go.

I have only been here since 2009 so a relative newcomer though it does seem longer. I don't know why it took me so long to discover the forum, as a Digital Native I have been on the net actively since the late 80's.
This forum has certainly been one of the most friendly and welcoming of all the many forums that I have subscribed to over the past decade or so, probably due to the like mindedness of all the members on it.

Same here. May 2009 I signed up, when I got my 3500S. I also signed up to a few other forums/fora (not sure what the correct plural of forum is :? ) around the same time but I tend to lurk around those rather than post regularly as I do here.

2008, when I bought Sparky, or rather a month or so beforehand.

I was a member of the Owner's club back in the mid 80's though so have been around for a while now. 8)

Only a year so. I would not have contemplated buying and running a P6 abroad without this forum for support. Too difficult, too complicated and too expensive otherwise.

2003 for me too.
I visit here often but don't seem to post much these days. Love hearing about other members cars though!

I discovered the forum in 2008, so it wasn't very long at all afterwards that I joined, maybe just a matter of days.

I remember being quite excited writing my first introductory post in the Welcome section, complete with photos of my Rover. I received some very nice comments which was extremely pleasing indeed, from Richard (quattro), Graeme (ghce), Scott over in W.A and Harvey. There were more equally nice comments from a number of people who have since disappeared from the forum.

Apart from a dark period in my life, I pay a visit typically not less than once per day.

In my opinion, this is without doubt the best forum on the internet, a great bunch of people who all share a love of owning, driving and maintaining classic Rovers!

Seconded. If you have a problem, someone has the answer down to what bolt and thread sizes from memory!

I reckon there are a good many cars on the road today that simply wouldn't have made it because it wouldn't be economical to not go the DIY route with the help of the knowledge contained herein.

Hi I joined sometime around 2008 just under Marcus, I joined after I had purchased Rosie for the grand total of £700. But I wish I had found the forum before I purchased Rosie.

October 20th 2002. I'm in at number 10, Alan Francis (5) and Rudiger (8) are ahead of me, so I'm the third longest serving still active member.

At that time I was just starting my sojourn as editor of 'Driving Force', and, as we checked the other day, the P6 Club had circa 280 members.

By the middle of next year I suspect - thanks to a lot of hard work from the current Committee - that will have doubled.

April '03 makes me a relatively old hand on here :D although I don't post that often. It's THE best place for advice with my P6s; there are persons on here that know more about P6s than you'd think was possible - & it's all practical help from those who've actually done it, too!

I can only agree with the sentiments above - a great forum & a great bunch of people, some of whom I've had the pleasure of meeting over the years.

My User Control Panel says I've been a member since Mon Aug 23, 2004, but IIRC I was a member of an earlier iteration of this forum as far back as 1999 or 2000 when I decided it was time I got a V8 P6. Possibly I just read the online 'classified ads' in the Cars For Sale section. I know I bought the now departed NKT599M off the earlier incarnation this forum in 2000. I'm sure I became a member no later than that. Whatever, it isn't a peeing contest. I sincerely hope this forum is still here helping me continue to enjoy my '72 P6B in another fourteen or fifteen years time!
