i/4 light panels

Hi there all, hope your easter sees you well.
Can someone advise me on how to remove the viking ship badges on the 1/4 light panel so i can remove the vinyl?
the vinyl has gone hard and ill recover it using a rubber paint from a can.
Which incidentally i have just sprayed the roof with and coated with a turtle wax jet black trim coating.
Although not perfect im quite impressed. It will peel off easily if i wish to remove it at a later date.
Id like to refit the badges and wondering how to refix them as well?

ok so now that ive removed the badges it seems like i asked a silly question, all clean up panels ready to rust kill and then coat.
I have removed the centre console to find if i can tighten the loose gear stick lever and found missing screws and squashed wiring.
Seems like the "reputable" transmission company did a CRAP job when it was replaced.
Maybe thats why theyre no longer trading?
Anyway can someone tell me should there be 1/2" foam insulation under the carpet round the trans tunnel?
And is it possible to tighten the ball on the end of the gear lever on my auto, looks like theres play on the right hand side but none on the left hand side.
I havent delved any further yet as im about to start tea for the family. Can have a look later on.

There is a nylon bush at the lower end of the gear stick. After 40 odd years I'd say yours has broken into bits but still sitting in its mount. This will give a floppy gear stick. Easy but fiddly fix if you have the bush . Theres one on eBay ex Oz $27 if I remember.

Thanks Graeme ill go and inspect.
The gear knob looks to be missing its bush and had two (sharp headed) screws gripping the gear shaft, all of this at the top.
The trans company has butchered it all.
Do you or anybody no where i could get another mat/carpet set of any colour?
mine are fallen to bits and until i can get a new set ,i dont mind something.
