Ignition timing

Hi All :D

I have finally got my engine back together after swapping the heads over ,in theory it should start ,but knowing me it won't ,I put the dizzy back in more or less the same position ,and have lined the cap up roughly ,so as I said in theory it should start .

Is there anything else I need to check ? would it be better to turn the engine over so that No1 cylinder is at TDC ? I have electronic ignition

any advice greatly appreciated :)

Thanks

Adam :)

Hi Adam,

Did you do anything else to the engine apart from changing the heads? Did you remove the distributor for any particular reason? Has the crankshaft been moved at all in the time that the distributor had not been fitted?

Hi Ron

I removed the Distributor to give easier access ,and to avoid damage ,although I did try to put it back in the same position ,the crankshaft has not been moved ,in theory it should start ,but in my limited experience in these matters it usually doesn't !
