Indicator problem

Nearside indicators work ok but slow, offsides light up but do not blink. Changed flasher unit, nearsides worked much better than before so worth doing, no change to drivers side, took bulbs out individually in case of some shorting problem, no change. Any ideas please. 1975 P6 2200 auto

Look for a bad earth somewhere. You could take a long wire from the -ve battery pole & connect it to different parts of the circuit, noting any difference in flash rate.

Couldn't understand why one side worked and the other didn't when there is only the one flasher unit and the indicator switch was sending the current correctly. However cleaned the earth connection on bulkhead by the drivers glove pocket and all seems ok now, strange! Decided to quit looking whilst I was ahead. Thanks for pointing me in right direction.

Worth cleaning the 6 way earths at the lamps.

I had a side light that was earthing throught the flasher and only flashed with the indicator.

They are a major cause of poor electrics.
