Indicator problem

I guess that this will an "easy one" for someone out there.. but the solution would be so welcome
1971 P6 3500 RHD .. Problem : rear offside flasher tends to flash exceedingly slow , to the point of being dangerous .
Also is there an "Update " of any sort available to modernise the flasher system ..

Just the rear? You'd expect the front and rear to flash at the same speed.
In my experience, most problems with the indicators are caused by bad earth connections. So first step is to remove the bulbs and clean any corrosion off the lamp holders. If that doesn't work, then have a look at the bullet connections on the cabling.
