Unapologetically, another non-P6 clip for you, because this lovely machine looks and sounds fantastic, and the snappy gear changes are just sublime. I am guilty of watching on board footage with click-clack gear shifts whilst I wait patiently for a diagnosis of whatever I've managed to do to my gearbox for it to seize. Have a nice Friday, fellas.

So do I!
Fantastic piece of driving.
I love the part when, what looks like a Porsche, (6:30) realises he can’t outrun the MG, indicates right and gives way.

The Europeans drivers are much more courteous than us Brits. That would never happen on the North Circular!

I recall years ago, following a top-down convertible 'B' (not a V8) down the Epping Road (the old A11). I was in the company's facelift Transit, LWB, high top with single driving wheels & the 2 litre Pinto which sounded terrific in the big body & went like a scalded cat. He had what was probably his young son in the car & pressed on straight out of town but he couldn't shake me off all the way down from Epping to Rangers Road where he turned off with a cheery wave.
Nice memory that.
My mates didn't believe that van would do the ton (well, the speedo stop pin) until l took them up the M11 to Loughton one evening.

An LT77 is not going to take that punishment, I know you are joking.
However if you are looking for a stronger sporting 5 speed then you are looking at a T5 maybe.

I have considered a 6 speed Mazda MX5 conversion ? must find out the torque rating on that box.

I watched this and it threw up a question.

Did jaguar paint the inside of their engines?

I seen a rover V8 with the inside painted and thought that would be making a mess when the oil gets reacting.

I have seen this before on some engines I had rebuilt one that springs to mind was an FB Victor I did back in the 80's

Interesting opinions on the Rover Vitesse the RV8 engine and LT77 gear changes:

I first thought the engine sound from inside the car is increadable; later in the video I became convinced that they are using an external mic and over playing the sound over the cabin mic.
