LHD baseunit

Hi, series 1, so presumably came from a dry state. legality could be an issue, still
some people don't seem to care about that.

Pad warning light system and the upstands on the inner wings suggest early Series 2 to me.

Hi, yes, it was the upstands that caught my eye on first look, but I also noticed the series 2
dash top and power steering but thought they could be later additions. That will teach me to
jump to conclusions.

It's a Nada base unit. You can see the holes in the bulkhead & o/s inner wing for the air-con, the plumbing for the dual line brakes, holes in the 'A' posts for the electric window looms, Federal chassis plate on the n/s 'B' pillar & a weird thing that seems to pop up on Nada's, the red/white striped tape on the swivel pillar. This tape appears in several places on my own car & I know it's on other Nada's.

Also visible, holes for electric window looms in the B/C pillar, holes in the n/s inner wing for the coil/charcoal canister bracket, hole in the n/s A pillar for ignition key warning buzzer switch, metal battery box, brackets for fuel tank expansion tank.

I know, sad isn't it!

"Having a clear out so if you need a good shell to start a project then this could be the one for you"

A couple of years ago, I am sure this was a very good baseunit, but with the amount of remedial work now required to get this back to a good baseunit, you might as well fix the chassis you already have (unless you have a scrapper LOL). You can't really say this is rust free anymore LOL.... Possibly not too much rot there, but this is now good as a donor for those hard to fabricate repair panels...

I see no one has jumped at the opportunity at £60

On the contrary, interesting stuff!

Fair dos, you asked for it! So, holes to the r/h/s of the bonnet slam panel for the engine stay rod, which is moved forward to clear the air con compressor & holes to the l/h/s of the slam panel for the fuel tank charcoal canister. Between the two holes is a pop rivet that holds a studplate below the panel.

I'll get me coat now!
