metallic knocking front passenger side

I now have 2 pb6 sedans and notice when parked side by side that one sits lower at the rear.
Is it a known problem of the springs sagging, is there a measurement for the length of the spring that can be checked?

Peter

I think in the workshop manual it will be mentioned HOWEVER you really need to buy a 3rd P6 just to make sure.......o_O

Well spotted, he may have double vision which is leading to this form of writing dyslexia, could also be a counting error also, I maybe on dangerous ground here :D

Don't know the answer to the correct spring height, but the original springs did sag. However the replacements in ours put in by the "experts" at Pedders maybe 20 years ago have not sagged at all, which means our car appears to have its bum in the air when compared to others.

Vaguely recall a suggestion that one should use secondhand Range Rover springs rather than new springs, but have no idea why.

the free length for suffix A cars is 13.312 inches or 338 mm. For suffix B and 3500S 13.218 inches or 335.7 mm.
