Finally got to this almost mythical event yesterday. What a great day out.

Large amount of cars present

I'll stop bleating about it now, but after all the effort I went to to try and get a Willow Green car to Coughton Court, there were two of the critters at East Kirkby. The lovely one in the foreground is mostly original and pre-loved, the one in the background is one family owned and a real show stopper.

Engine of the really smart one. Note the bigger servo put on some years ago to counteract the much harder later Dunlop brake pads.

Richie really loves those Merlins. Here's 'Just Jane' on a taxi run.

'City Of Lincoln' flew over at 4.30pm. Wonderful sight.

Brilliant show. Really enjoyed it and well worth the considerable distance (in the Big Red Monster) travelled to be there!

Brilliant day out, and luckily not too hot <phew>

Big aeroplane

Feeling a bit conspicuous :)

I think someone crashed this Spitfire - needs more than T-Cut

V12 Crank with pistons, need straightening

Very rare willow green P6, you'll probably only ever see one of these in your lifetime

And another one

No sign on this, but certainly looks like a Bouncing Bomb

Sparky likes to have his picture taken, so who am I to argue :)

Loads of Lovely cars, and a Skoda?

Plenty there, really good turnout

Looked like a great show.

Yep that's a Barnes Wallis special. There's one just like it at the entrance to 617 Sqn at RAF Lossiemouth. I was also stationed at Coningsby for 4 years in the 90s and used to see the BBMF aircraft regularly. Never got tired of seeing them. Those Willow Green cars look good. Have to wonder how we managed to not get one at Gaydon for the 50th line up of original colours. I presume Nick made a bee line and got the owners' details?

That's a real pain when someone sticks a eurobox on the end of a row of classics (& I don't care if he did have to leave his real car at home). The owner needs a stiff talking-to!

I'm not sure how that happened at all. The event was so well marshalled it must have been put there as a concession to a disabled owner or similar.

Surely anyone with any love of classic cars wouldn't want to stick their Skoda in a line of classic cars ? Unless he is one of these "don't you know who I am" people ?
