Morse Taper bits in drill press

Can anyone help me with this.
I have a counterbore with a 3 morse taper that I want to use in my drill press.
It's a Walker Turner drill press with I believe a Jacobs taper chuck spindle..
I have found this adaptor to mount it in the chuck but I'm not sure if it's safe to use in a drill press like that?
It's also a bit pricey.

The part I want to machine is 3/4" aluminium. I need to recess a hex head bolt and be able to fit a socket in to tighten/loosen.

Hi, I have no practical experience of doing this sort of thing, but willing to be educated
I google'd on it and came across this on another forum. It seems it could be an accepted
practice. I would guess another option would be to modify the counterbore to go in the chuck.

Please don't take my word for it, I am sure there are more knowledgeable people on here
able to offer a more informed opinion.

Thanks Colin,
I had seen that forum topic but hadn't come to any conclusions.
Unfortunately my drill press doesn't have a morse taper spindle like some :(
Ideally I'd like to keep the morse taper and not modify it, rather use some kind of adaptor so other morse taper bits can be used in future- the choice of bits is endless.
Anyone else have any thoughts?
I guess the cheapest thing at this stage would be to machine the taper straight or into a triangle to mount in the chuck.
That or just cough up for that adaptor I linked to.

After more research, the simplest and cheapest way to do this is to turn down the morse taper to a straight shank.
I need to find someone with a lathe who's willing to do it for me though..
The only other realistic option is the first link I posted, but that's another £20 to spend and perhaps not as safe in use.

I wouldn't use the adaptor in the drill chuck the whole thing could thrash about a bit. The second adaptor is for a milling machine and is drawn into the spindle by a through bolt. Either as you say modify the counterbore or find someone with a good size drilling machine.

Thanks for the reply. I did email the seller of the adaptor stating what I would primarily be using it for, and they thought it would be ok.
But they're after a sale at the end of the day..
So my best option is to find someone who can turn it down to a true straight shank then.
If anyone knows anyone who could do this for me I'd be most grateful, the bit in question is small packet postable..
Thanks
Jim

Just to follow up.
It was simplest and cheapest for me to obtain a straight shank counterbore.
Works a treat in the drill press.

Normally drill presses have either morse taper or Jacobs taper, jacobs is a reverse arrangement - male in the machine, female in the chuck - and shorter. sounds like that is what youhave? either way the sleeves available to convert one to the other or to reduce the taper size work well provided they are properly installed
