Mot day

Nice one, its a good feeling :)

They don't check my emissions, did you ask them to do that?

Richard

Good news regarding the pass.

You are indeed correct regarding the August 1975-onwards emissions test and is one reason why I looked for a car earlier than that. The only test is for visible smoke before this date

Hi guy's
Any well maintained / good condition p6 can meet the after August 1975 emissions requirements.
Clive.

I know the emissions on mine arent as good as they should be, but only new piston rings and cam bearings are likely to cure that....

On that basis a smoke test is good for me ;) Going to rebuild the original engine over this winter hopefully for the 50th anniversary.

Really chuffed for you Chalky. I know some people who like a fail because then they have something to fix. But I personally prefer driving them to fixing them - great news your car passed without advisories. I did wonder why there was no emissions test on mine, but now I understand why, as it is a 1972 car.

Cheers Riddler. I tune him up by ear and test drives so I was particularly pleased by the emissions result. Feeling smug.
Probably break down next outing!

Yes, let's hope smug doesn't turn into smog!
I'm off to Yorkshire in mine today to get a quote from a company called Pickerings in Bradford for repairing the seam-split on one of my back seats (anybody here used them?) and then will call in to see P6 Rover Owners Club secretary Deborah in Huddersfield for a chat and a coffee before heading back over the Snake Pass and home to Cheshire. Just my kind of day - hoping the weather holds as, after a week of sunshine, today, my day off, it is a bit overcast.

Interesting article in 'Hemmings Daily News'...scroll down to 2nd pic as somewhat apropos. Extra points for guessing the marque of the white carhttps://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2016/10/04/both-great-britain-and-european-union-look-to-scrap-inspections-for-older-cars-but-cant-agree-on-cutoffs/
