Given it takes about 3 minutes to remove a wing, why not strip the car rather than mask it? The side trims take less time to pop off than they do to tape up.

Peter, try to convince a paint shop of that who have never seen a P6....! Was so happy to find a shop even willing to respray a noninsurance/older than 1990 car! Too many flat 'No's" from every other place I had tried.

^^ Been there, tried that - not just paintwork either. I tried to find a machine shop/suspension shop to remove the old ball joints and reinstall new ones on the front swivel pillar - one place I was still walking across the car park when the guy came to the door and just shook his head.

Yeah, I understand but it would annoy me to have an unnecessary line/ridge in the paint. You could have popped them off yourself of course.

I am about to paint my wings and wonder how it is removed in 3 mins? I have now painted the 4 doors in acrilic and the quest is onward, wings front and back....

As long as the bolts are free the wing comes off in no time, does it not?
