Had an exhaust made by my local Powerflow people (Lincoln)

Took around five hours in all

Old silencer box

Sounds nice .Just the one muffler? Does it sound OK inside the cabin -say on a long trip

It is not too obtrusive at the moment, I have not driven it long distance yet but on a quick 30 mile test run it sounded epic!

It is a vast improvement over the old leaky system

If it is too loud I will have a small muffler fitted as well, we still have to fit a tip once a decision has been made which one to use, don`t want it to look boy racer

Having an old Webasto does mean a lot of outside noise enters the cabin, I am looking to fit a new roof

I will post another video at the weekend using some revs

Most effective at the traffic lights ;)

Very nice. Did they have much of a waiting list to get booked in? Was it a case of turn up and they give you some suggestions or was it more complicated than that?

It was pretty straighforward

I took the car in on the Saturday afternoon for the main man to have a look on the ramp to make sure he had what he needed in stock and the they booked it in for the following Thursday

Painfree apart from payment!

Are you prepared to reveal the cost? Had one done on my 260Z by an excellent firm in Macclesfield, Cheshire and I seem to remember it was about £400. Have wondered about getting the P6 done.

That is exactly what I was charged, very happy with the result, gave it a 70 mile blast yesterday and it sounds very nice accelerating at 80 (on a private road!)

Not every bodies cup of tea I expect but you can certainly identify the engine as a V8 and it is always a plus point when (if) you come to sell

I think it sounds lovely, if a little harsh at the moment. But from what I have seen (or rather, heard) is that harshness of the stainless steel goes after a while.

What did you mean about the Y-piece?

Are tubular manifolds coming next? :D

hmm lovely, this is pretty much what ill be doing but keeping the original system in steel and having a new bit of stainless pipe made for the last section... hopefully with a dummy back box just for the original look. Can't wait to hear it going some...don't let us down :)

just fitted new stainless up to diff but last exhaust box was in good shape so leaving that till later. got mine from Wins . devil of a job getting second box to miss body work underneath. ( blue air again) .. not sure whom jigged the exhaust up when manufacturing but its only just fitted. not good looking joints , so MOT tester may have a point of view but hopefully gas tight? cant run to test at moment as diff is off doing rear callipers ( again) and won't risk running engine when on axle stands.
must see if I can post a few pics when ready .. doubt it will sound any different as old steel unit but have to wait and see. might even see if last 'box'

This just never gets old. It's a Rover, and it's a V8... it's just not a Rover V8  Once you hear it I think you'll agree that it doesn't matter though...

Some modern cars have the exhaust noise enhanced from the engine bay and relayed to the cabin, just to please the driver, Lamborghini and Porsche, Bugatti, Morris minor and Veyron do it, about time us Rovers had a go?
maybe a recording of a nice V8 sound and a boom boom box in the boot, facing to the rear for the benefit of the pedestrians ? :D
