Hi, I'm new to the forum and already need some advice.

I have a RV8 and LT77 box with remote , and I'm trying to tie down the specifics of the box.

The ID number has a suffix which I can't find on any of the lookup sites: its CL-xxxxxx-C (xx .. being the serial no)

I m trying to find the ratios and spec, can anyone point a newbee in the right direction

Cheers. Silverback

Welcome
It appears that your gearbox is from a TR7 and if so should have a 0.83:1 ratio fifth gear. Fourth will be 1.00:1, you will have to google the rest ;)

Be aware that the clutch arm pivots on a ball on a pedestal screwed in the front of the box, these come in differing heights and it is essential to get the right one for the SD1 clutch set up. The stock TR7 one wont work.

I would also add that welding a strengthening plate to the back of the arm above the dimple for the ball pivot is a good I have had a dimple blow through on a TR7 many moons ago.

Will deffo post as it progresses. Currently a 1960 MGA IS sitting in France waiting for my brother in law to start to do the chassis, turn from LHD to a right hooker and sort a very shabby body. Major works but now trying to line up the mechanics so they can be rebuilt in parallel. MONEY PIT but worth it- I hope
