NOS rear bumper

I would want to fully inspect it after the owner has cleaned it up.
Years of having that sticky tape on them can do them no favours.
It could need a rechrome if there is damage caused.

My experience as follows: I bought a NOS pair of rear side-bumper blades for my A60 Estate some years back. The protective covering was very firmly stuck to it indeed & I did have some doubts about any marks that it may have caused. I gradually removed & cleaned it off with cellulose thinners & they turned out to be as good as the day they were wrapped & still are.
That wrapping looks to be far easier to remove than mine was too so personally, I wouldn't dismiss it if this is an item you want & I can imagine a lot of people are thinking about having a punt.

I do in fact, have a spare pair of those side-blades too which I left in the wrapping, as I recall. I'll have to dig them out.

And on the negative side,I bought a nos wrapped corner section for my TR6,that on a quick inspection looked to be great.
On unwrapping it,it was obvious it had been stored badly and the damp had got in and pitted it.
Only good for chroming.
If anyone wants to spend £150+ on an item that may or may not be ok,then good luck to them.

I bought a 'new' bumper for a 420G wrapped in 'well stuck' cloth tape.
First bit unwrapped looked perfect - further along pitted - I was gutted.

Mark.

Have to say if I was selling it, I'd go to the trouble of removing the wrapping and cleaning it up. However if I started removing the wrapping and spotted damage, I'd be tempted to do exactly what the seller has done.
