Not a P6 but...

I had wanted to go to Santa Pod to watch the Nostalgia Drags today, but I hadn't realised it there were no tickets at the gate, pre-book only, closed a week or so ago. Herrumph. Instead, I took my better half down to the City where she is particularly fond of one of the nice Hotel Spas. South of Archway the 30mph zone reduces to 20mph, but the Sunday drivers wouldn't go faster than 5 !!! I was just getting hot and bothered when we reached Holloway, and there were a whole bunch of shiny old cars lining both sides of the road. Impromptu meet at Holloway Motor Factors. Lots of lovely machinery, and I had a nice chat with a P6er from up Watford way. My particular favourite was this black and blown Ford Pop, with a Rover motor providing the ooomph. Not a P6, but too wicked not to share with y'all anyway! Didn't find the owner to chat to. Anybody know what the thing between the blower and the intake manifold is? Is that some sort of intercoooler? Or plenum chamber?

Wossat, @sdibbers? "Y'all"? Dunno where I picked up that affectation. I can't impersonate a Southern Drawl very well, but I like reading the dialog in Tom Wolfe novels out loud.
The mystery component beneath the blower is apparently a Chargecooler, I'm told by the facepalm P6 Modified group.
@Phil Robson, pull the trigger on that blue 'B', then fit a motor like the one above!?

Would have loved to gone to the Nostalgia Drags at Santa Pod, Love it there, Hot Rods & muscle cars are my passion, 68~69 Chevy Chevelle would be on the cards if I won the lotto oh and a 68-70 charger...hmmm!
Took my old P6 down the 1/4 mile back in 2011 before I had finished painting it and again at the now gone Shakespeare race way in about 2013 with finished paint, I could have got out and ran faster but it was a great rush!....That is tire smoke not engine burnt oil smoke in my effort to try and achieve a half decent burn out with no LSD ;)

Lol, that it did Mr T. Phil, bad luck on missing out on the B, they're still plentiful though, you could always buy a rubber bumper model and do the chrome bumper conversion. I had a 1967 GTB in 2008, did a sympathetic restoration but l found it too low for me and it wasn't a V8 so l sold it for a good profit.
