Not Rover...but British

I always wondered what are they like to drive, especially in comparison with a P6. I know they were contemporary but i can't help but thinking that they would feel obsolete in comparison. Indeed nice cars though.

The Mk2/240/340 aren't as good because of the crude rear suspension, which the S-Type improved on with the IRS, and the only difference between that and the 420 is the front end styling and dash, which I prefer. With the IRS I'd say probably better than the P6, and far bigger inside, but that's just my opinion, and regardless of all that, and even though I'd like another 420, I'd still stick with P6's. Mk2's may be worse in the handling/ride department, but with the early fat bumpers they look so good you could almost forgive the downsides.

That's intersting Harvey. I have heard about the improved IRS in the later cars, but i never imagined that the front suspension, steering and gearbox would follow through and allow a willing driver to throw them around in the same way with a P6.
Perhaps it's their 50's style that keeps deceiving me.
