Thanks Harvey couldn't think of what the name was of something suitable, Halfords here we come . Think we conferred years ago re my broken kickdown cable which I must get round to doing some day, got the gasket, did try for a cable but wherever I was told to go wanted to know the length of the existing one and it was too wet to grovel under the car, so it went down the list again, still its been broken for about 12 years now so no panic. It passed MoT last week despite the oil leak, so its got a years extended life, its not garaged and is a local landmark which helps the neighbours when they give directions such as 'go past the house with the old blue Rover and we are on the left' etc.......
