oil filter

here is a first difficulty. In which direction should the oil filter be rotated to change it, clockwise or counter-clockwise?

The only thing you can break is the filter itself. It sounds like it was tightened too much or the base seal wasn't lubricated when it was installed.

Now if you tear the filter, oil will of course pour out so it is probably a good idea to wrap some rags around the base before attacking it with large tools.

I would use a strap type oil filter wrench. Take the dipstick out will give you more room to work. Access is more difficult in automatic cars and even worse on dual braking circuit cars. Make sure the replacement filter has the anti drain back tube. You need it for the Rover 2000 motor.

It has a little crushed with its three legs, it is convenient because using a cross key like the one for the wheels, it exerts a beautiful force and it is exercised from above the filter where the field is free.
Thank you all.
Ok, it's out!
