Oil Light

I have a bit of spare time now that we are moving into winter here down under . Not much fun playing in the rain , so inside jobs are being dealt to , like cleaning up my shed .
One job I would like to do , is sort my quirky little red light that comes on once the engine reaches normal temp .
A while after I did the oil upgrade kit and therefore removed the two switches on the pump housing for cleaning , the little light guy comes out to play and won't stay asleep .
Ive tried driving faster but it stays on and hurts my fuel gauge .
So do I -?
1 - place duct-tape over the light
2 - fiddle about somewhere
3 - replace something obvious
4 - wear darker sunnies
5 - Repaint the whole car and don't ever drive her again

Sorry the pic isn't up to scratch , but you can see all gauges are reading OK except the fella top right .

Change the sender for the warning light. I had a similar problem on the Turquoise car a while back. New sender unit and it was right as rain.
I think the spring weakens with age and heat and the switching pressure gets higher and higher.

Thanks "KWR"
is that the larger unit on the oil pump you are talking about ?

I think you need to go Old Testament on it as in "if thee eye offends thee, pluck it out" or in your case just remove the offending bulb  though some of your options such as 3 and 5 seem particularly appealing especially in light of that almond colouring. Option 4 only benefits you whilst option 5 benefits the world!!

No, it's the smaller one. The bigger one is for the gauge. Or you could just unplug the wire from the sender and tape it off.

Thanks for that Al
I think I'll go for a newby

ghce -all almond cars are the beautiful coloured cars that will add verve to the drab coloured world you drive in . Im happy to organise a a wip-around to get you an almond paint job if you are feeling left out of driving the most exciting colour on the road .
Maybe you just need a "good shirt" to brighten up your drive ..
