Oil Pressure switch hole thread size?

Does anyone know what thread size the oil pressure switch thread is? I want to fit a mechanical oil pressure gauge under the bonnet of my car as I have no faith in the original Rover gauges, having tried a combination of gauges and senders recently and got a different reading each time. I have seen adaptors which screw in to the oil pressure switch (not sender) hole which you can then add both the original switch ahd another gauge. I want to use the switch and not the sender hole as the sender hole needs about an hour of work just to get to on a NADA engine!

Hi Richard,

Like you, I wasn't happy at all with the gauge readings I was getting from a replacement sender.

I got my fittings from Speedograph Richfield in Nottingham...

...and ordered:

1 off Tee Piece, Ref: TP10 (1/2" UNF)

1 off Oil Pipeline Adaptor, Ref: OA

1 off Oil Pipeline, Ref: OLN08-AA (This was the right fitting for my Smith's gauge - you just need to check what inlet connection's needed on whichever gauge you'll be fitting)

They're all on that link above.

Cheers,

Re the fittings for a real pressure gauge, does the adaptor clear the crossmember under the pump ? Looks like it will be pretty close ..?

Edit - was confused about which hole the adaptor went in - worked it out, should be OK.
thanks
