Ol' Rumbly sadly for sale

Folks
I've had to reach the decision to go down to one P6 - I'm being slaughtered for garage rental, so my Three Thousand Five is on eBay. Will be the first time I've been down to one P6 in many years, but needs dictate. Pretty gutted actually.

I'd love the car to go to someone who'll spend the money on the bodywork - she'd be truly superb with a couple of panels and a fresh coat of paint.

Cheers
Nick

Nick

Saw this on ebay last night and was very surprised to see Ol' Rumbly up for sale. Hope he finds a good new home.

Sorry to see this, Nick! Looks such a nice, honest car too! I'm sure it'll find a good home, and I hope you're able to get a second P6 again soon!

Sorry to see this Nick. Saw you today in Alresford, and have to say, I really hope everything works out for you. I am tempted to buy old Rumbly, but according to my other half, I already have too many old cars. I will be watching this though..

Heather insisted we go for a rumble in the car, they do an excellent roast at the place on the corner by the railway station. Works for me.

I don't need sympathy - I'll still have my 2000, and I get to drive loads of differing P6's - perk of the job!

You really have all the desirable extras on this :D . You might want to sell me that passenger grab handle before selling it  In my eyes the series 1, V8 is probably the king of all P6s. I really hope the buyer will appreciate what they are getting. Good luck with the auction!

Storage is the bugbear of any modest classic fleet. A shame you have to sell seeing as you looked for the right car for so long. Personally, I think it's one of those cars to which an extensive restoration would not be an improvement.
I think an S1 holds all the extras better than the S2's, which can appear a little overloaded.

Martin it'd leave a two holes in the dashboard, so not going there :D

The car doesn't need an extensive rebuild, thankfully, but could do with a good coat of paint.

No, but I can see it being one of those that could have the soul restored out of it by an unfeeling moneyed type. I'm sure you know what I mean.

BTW, that's a lovely shot with the Christmas lights, straight out of a brochure. Can you post the original so I can save it in larger size please? 8)

I have to agree, that's a very nice pic.

This was taken in Godalming in extremely cold temperatures in early December for our Xmas card.

It's since been used by Ian Elliott on the cover of 'Freewheel'. The passing car (a blur) actually got the lighting right.

Shot just using a Lumix camera on a stand.

The car was actually filthy dirty at the time, but this isn't apparent on the photo.

Indeed. The interior doesn't need anything at all and it would be a travesty to mess with it.

I have had a couple of long term Rover-heads come out of the wordwork about the car, and if one of them has it, she will be done sympathetically.

Ah, good show.

I didn't take the photo from fleabay as the size would be limited. Thanks for that.

Think nothing of it, although I got it from fleabay, so methinks you need to swot up on your computer skills a bit......
