One Man Eezibleed Kit

The eezibleed kit, number G4062 which I bought a few months ago does not have a suitable top or cover to fit what I believe to be the standard P6 brake fluid reservoir.
Could any of our resourceful members suggest a method of making an alternative top for the reservoir to enable me to use the kit.

Get a reservoir cap, remove the low fluid warning switch, and modify it with a fitting that will fit the easibleed.

These kits are ok if they all hold together but a blowout or pipe coming off can be terrible if fluid gets on paintwork.
I would advise make sure that all connections cannot part and have a watering can full of water to hand, if brake fluid gets on paintwork douse it liberally with water immediately and you may save the paint.

Thinking about that point, the pipe between the reservoir and master isn't secured, so that pipe is going to blow off, so either that needs clipping, or the easibleed idea is a non-starter.

I have got one, but I've never had to use it on a P6, and I used to bleed them on my own without problems.

I've always found the method in the rover Factory Workshop Manual works great with the one way valve style bleed nipples. you can bleed even the NADA style dual circuit brakes single handed with them. I've had similar worries with the eezi bleed kits.

How can it be done on your own ? Tried to train our cat to press and release the pedal (it´s a strong, fat cat), but was a mess ;)

Open the bleed nipple with a tube into a fluid bottle, pump the pedal and then wedge the pedal down with a rod from the front of the seat, then go and close the bleed nipple. Repeat with the other two bleed nipples if required.

When I bleed my brakes I use a clear vinyl hose, (from the hardware store) which is attached to a metal pipe, which is attached to a 6" black hose. The metal pipe and black hose were from a $4 chinese grade mechanic's stethoscope. The black hose fits over nipple. The length is about 3 meters. My plan was to use my finger to stop air being drawn in on the up stroke. However I found that there is sufficient surface tension that it is not necessary. With the clear hose you can see the fluid coming out, and you can see if there is any bubbles within the fluid. This works very well for me.

I've found this works surprisingly well - I got a 100ml plastic syringe, stood it in a big plastic cup to keep it upright with the plunger at the bottom and connected it to the bleed nipple with a length of hose.
With the bleed nipple opened, I pushed the pedal down fast and up slow as per normal bleeding and the stiffness of the plunger in the syringe was enough to stop fluid being sucked back on the up stroke.
I thought air might get sucked in past the nipple thread but it wasn't, maybe the bled-out air in the syringe is under just enough pressure to stop this.
I don't use my Eezybleed thing any more, also the syringe method doesn't use as much fluid because I didn't like pouring unused fluid from the Eezybleed reservoir back into the bottle.

I have an old easy bleed kit i used on other cars but found pressures from spare tyre needed to be v low or pipe would come off . wastes fluid too. end dup doing it old fashioned way.
just bled my brakes now .son on footbrake me under car and 3 quick bleed valves later. solid brakes .. took about 4 mins. i push a length of clear plastic tube over nipple after releasing nipple. then bleed with tube into a small container . locking nipple when happy no air and pedal is fully down or on way down ...so far so good easy bleed just taking up space now..did consider getting a spare cap and modifying to fit rover but cant be asked as lot of flaffing about . spare tyre letting air out. re-inflating etc was far quicker just sliding under car ( on ramps and axle stands) using one of those mechanics trollies on wheels . few mins later one car down. little mess an alway shave a clean rag handy to mob up any drops etc and around nipples.
