Fuel gauge reads the same no matter how much fuel is in the tank but drops to zero when ignition is switched off. Does this suggest a sender fault?

Hi, The gauge dropping to zero with ign off is OK. Try taking the wire off the sender unit and touching it to earth on the vehicle, what does it do then?

useful tip - thanks. My fuel gauge does not show full even when overflowing. Perhaps mine is a dodgy earth or gauge. Is there an adjustment potentiometer in the instrument?

Sweet colour!
Is your side strip custom made?
Ususally it stopps before the front wheels, this extended version looks very well.

What is the meaning of tick-over? i read this a lot but i don't really know what you guys mean by this.

Tickover is the engine speed the engine settles to when no gear is selected and no throttle is applied - usually prefered to be about 700 rpm (+/-10%).
Another term used in English is "idle" or "idling speed"
If you look at the rev counter in the photo of the steering wheel & instrument panel it is reading about 1300 rpm, so it needs adjusting, as Richard commented

Side strip was on the car when I bought it, prefer the subtle look of the genuine item to be honest but it is different, I may keep it on until respray happens

Tickover already explained by smokin 1942
