P6 2000 TC automatic

Hello fellow members. I live in Melbourne and purchased a 1969 TC earlier this year. i was grateful for the advice I received at the time from this forum. Now my better half wants to sell her MGB 'BL' auto and get into a P6 auto. ( I should say our daily runner is a boring Toyota Camry ) There is a P6 for sale in Sydney which is a 1969 2000 auto that at some stage has been modified with twin cams. It even sports TC badges. See www.carsales.au
When I contacted the owner he wasn't aware that there were never TC auto's produced. The car at some stage has been extensively restored, including the TC conversion. The seller has no information on the previous restoration.
My question is.... what modifications would or should have been made to ensure such a conversion was such that the car is a viable proposition. I don't want to travel up to Sydney without having some prior knowledge.

Hi Lewis, the TC had a few changes over the SC.

The ones I can remember are (and I’m sure others will add to the list if I forgot something):

  1. Carbs (obviously)
  2. Cylinder head
  3. Intake manifold
  4. Exhaust manifold
  5. Choke cable arrangement
  6. Accelerator linkage arrangement
I would check to see how they altered the kick down cable setup at the carb end as that would need to be adapted otherwise I know a few folks have made the change.
