P6 Bike carrier

Our car came with a tow bar and it was the first thing we removed all those years ago. I need to transport my VeloSolex tomorrow so spent the day making a bike rack to attach to the tow bar mount.
Here is the result.
The Solex is 9 years older than the car, so it is all fairly period. I like the look.

For those who are interested the bike is a 1964 French Moped of 49cc and will do close to 200mpg, with a top speed of less than 20mph. The engine bump starts and drive is through a roller resting on the top of front tyre.
It is road registered and MOTed, no brake lights, no speedo, no horn.

Great combination, I do like to see a P6 being put to unusual use!

Hope you fitted a lighting board to avoid getting pulled over.

I with on that, use them like they were in the day...

No lighting board yet, but I agree it really does need one. We had a great run today on the cyclemotors and the novelty of a Rover carrying a Solex was appreciated by the other riders.

Ah, nostalgia!
On visits to France in the 60's you'd see loads of these - young mamselles with their feet on the little chainguard platform and their skirts flapping!
Probably men would ride them as well but it's the girls I remember.

Why doesn't it just fall over when you pull away, I can't see a way if stabilising it sat there? :)

There is bar clamped to right hand bumper mount (hiding the V in Rover, just to the left of the V in v8) up to a clamp below the handle bars.
Here's a better view, except I can work out how to rotate the image, or has the bike fallen over as you warned.

No trying to be negative here, but I'd consider another one of those bars at the back of the Velo, too. It would be a tragedy if that broke and you lost that beautiful, original scoot.
