P6 friendly garage in Southampton?

Anyone got a recommendation for a P6 friendly garage in Southampton? I need to get the brake light switch replaced. I'd normally do this myself, but don't have all my tools with me.

Cheers,

Tom

A pair of mole grips or adjustable wrench will do.
Cheaper to buy the tool and do it than pay a garage,as its an easy and quick job.

That's a good point.

Does anyone know if the brake light switch was the same for all models? My parts book is back at home too. I'll order one and fit it this weekend.

Cheers,

Tom

Think the hydraulic switch type is the same across the range.
Dribble some fluid into the hole of the new one before fitting, and swap it quickly and you shouldn't even need to bleed the brakes.
If you have a mate handy, get them to very gently put light pressure on the brake pedal when you swap it,just enough to make a bit of fluid dribble out.

I did as you suggested and tackled the job myself. Thankfully no mishaps, and the car is now usable again.

Good news, and a few quid saved as well! :)
Well worth carrying a decent but basic tool kit in the boot,as you never know.
When going on longer journeys,I have an emergency get me home basic set of parts and tools.
Hoses, belts, bulbs, various electrical wires and connectors, set of known good s/h ign parts, fuel pump, brake fluid oil and water. :)
Anything more than that going wrong and I would need the AA.

I carry spanners, screwdrivers and a socket set, plus some other hand tools and emergency spares and consumables. Now, thanks to this job, I have a large adjustable spanner to live in the car too.
