P6 wiper delay.

I've just repaired the wiper delay units on both my 3500 and 2000TC. Both can be removed from the wiper motor in situ, with a modicum of fiddliness. Both had the same fault and I'd presume most P6s would be the same. On the side opposite the plunger is a one way air valve. The spring for the valve is a piece of sponge foam which of course stops being springy with time. Once you get the unit out, repair is a doddle.

Hi capacordian, did you buy a new sponge? If so where did you get it from or what did you make it out of? Thanks Russ

that remedy is a very short and sweet solution, would it work every time? would be good

however, if that is not the problem the P6 Club website offer a massive lo-down on the delay wipers in their members only section (select Technical Archive) which doesnt include your springy sponge AFAIK :p could be worth a look
