P6 Wiper Motor

You need to specify whther it is a power steered car - wiper motor on the near-side driving a tube and spiral cable - or non PAS - wiper motor on the off-side driving a crank and lever mechanism.

Hmm..are manuals different to automatics Chris? I always thought (probably wrongly!) the link mechanism was used on earlier cars and was superseded by the rack mechanism. Mine's an S without PAS with the motor on the nearside (RHD) driving the spiral cable/tube/rack arrangement.

Yeah, I thought similar to Stan. Pretty sure the later cars all had the cable type of wiper motor mech, with or without PAS (V8 manuals at least).
Certainly all my 3500S's have had the 'cable' type system too (1972 through to '75, PAS and manual steered).

Just pulled out the Parts Book and it shows the link arrangement for:

Chassis No 425 - 428 using Wiper Motor GEU707 up to Suffix C.
and
Chassis No 425-428 using Wiper Motor GEU709 from Suffix D on.

Rack type is listed for Chassis Nos. 451-454 and for 3500S Manual 481-484.

Thanks Chris.

It's a 1973 3500s. The wipers decided to stop working over xmas for some unknown reason.

The car has PAS and the wiper unit is located on the near side.

Is this the right one ?
