P6ers from the Case is Altered 2013 get-togethers and Outings List

The P6ers from the Case is Altered 2013 outings fill up up fast. If you are not booked into any of our 2013 events and want to come along then contact me by e-mail or pm me on the forum which sends your message to my e-mail address. Please include your own e-mail address and phone number in the message. I will then send you the final arrangements for where we meet so we all arrive together.

Location: Between Watford and Rickmansworth on the Village Green at Croxley Green not far from the M1, M25 and M40. The Green, Croxley Green, Hertfordshire, WD3 3HX

Either meet at the Case is Altered, Eastcote High Road, Pinner at 9.30am for latest 9.45am departure to Croxley Green to arrive at the show about 10.05 to 10.15am

Or meet at the Coach and Horses on the Green at Croxley Green. Those coming from the Case is Altered will reach the Coach and Horses pub on the Green at Croxley Green between 10am and 10.10am. The pub is 2 minutes from the show. If you want to join us there and enter the show with us so as to ensure we are all parked together please be outside the Coach
and Horses in your P6 by 10am.If you are coming please e-mail/pm me via the forum to let me know whether you will be coming to the Case is Altered or meeting outside the Coach and Horses.



N.B. Booking has ended for events 1 - 12 and 12 (a) and is in progress for events 13-14 below but has not yet opened for event 15-16 below.

1. Sunday 24 February - Rover Day at Whitewebbs Museum. P6s and older Rovers welcome. Booking closed

2. Sunday 21 April - De Havilland Museum on Drive it Day - If you want to be sure of a place contact me asap. P6s and older Rovers welcome. 30 cars and 44 people plus several under 16 year olds coming. Booking is now closed

3. Saturday 25 May - Enfield Pageant of Motoring Autojumble and setup day – We have our own stand which is for P6s only. Opening autojumble day. 8 out of 8 place taken. Full. Booking closed

4. Sunday 26 May - Enfield Pageant of Motoring P6ers display stand - We have our own stand for 10 cars which is for P6s only. 10 of 10 places taken. Full. Booking closed

5. Monday 27 May - Enfield Pageant of Motoring P6ers display stand - We have our own stand for 10 cars which is for P6s only. 12 of 12 places taken. Full. Booking closed. Drive around main Arena at 2.15pm.

6. Sunday 9 June - Luton Festival of Transport - We are aiming at 30-50 cars in our display area -P6s, SD1s and older Rovers welcome.21 P6s booked so far with 33 Rovers booked altogether. No SD1s booked yet but will reserve area for 10 SD1s on the day on first arrive basis. P6s please be back at our display area at 2.15pm ready for the Rover P6 Club drive around the central arena.

7. Friday 28th June to Sunday 30 June 2013 - Rover P6 Fiftieth Anniversary National Rally at Gaydon and Coughton Court (A joint event with the Rover Sports Register ).

On the Sunday the P6er's are meeting at The Case is Altered to drive to the magnificent Coughton Court in Warwickshire (join us on route or meet us there). All Rovers welcome. Booking via form in Rover P6 Club magazine.

[N.B. Some people may wish to take part in all 3 days of celebration which start with a barbeque supper at Alcester Rugby Club on the evening of Friday 28 June followed by road runs, a driving test and other P6 related attractions at Gaydon Heritage Museum on Saturday 29 June followed by a further barbeque supper at Alcester Rugby Club that evening.]

8. Saturday 6 July - SE Rover Rally - Petworth. The 2013 Rally will be held from 10.00am at the “Petworth Fete in the Park”, Petworth House. Make your own way or join those leaving from the Case is Altered AT 8am. Join us for breakfast on route between 9.20 and 9.50 at the Bacon Butty 2 miles after Northchapel on the A283 and 1 mile before Petworth. 9. Sunday 21 July - Uxbridge Auto Show. We have a display area for 17 cars [/color]. 17 of 17 places taken. Booking closed.

10. Wednesday 7 August - Classics on the Green at Croxley Green - P6s ONLY. 16 cars in our group. Booking Closed

11. Sunday 11 August - Classics on the Common at Ley Hill - A special area is arranged for our cars. P6s ONLY. 9 cars in our group. [Only 4 turned up on the day due to sickness etc but all had a great time!]

12. Tuesday 13 August - Ace Cafe, London NW10 –Classic Car evening – We have 8 8 places together in a reserved area. These attendees must be there for 5.30pm. P6s ONLY. Anyone else can join us but not in our reserved area- come on foot or park outside if no places left inside. Suggest arrive 6.30 onwards if not in reserved area. All 8 places in our reserved area taken. taken. If any one else wants to come along from 6.30 do let me know you are coming. You may have to park outside but last year everyone got in ok.

12(a). Sunday 25th August- (Bank Holiday weekend) there is a Rover Cars Rally at Buckingham Railway Centre at Quainton Road – see; http://www.bucksrailcentre.org/index.php and http://www.bucksrailcentre.org/rallies.php. This outing is to the marvellous Rover Car Rally at the Buckingham Railway Centre at Quainton, Buckinghamshire. HP22 4BY. This all Rover event is organised by our friends from the Rover P4 Drivers Guild. If not already on my list to attend and you want to come let me know asap. Entrance is £3 per person payable to the Rover P4 Drivers Club warden after arrival in the dedicated car park area. It is tremendous value as the £3 ticket also gives entry to the area where the trains are including rides on all the trains, a museum, catering and toilets. We show is from 10am –5pm with prizes and raffle about 4pm. The P6s will meet outside Porkys Café in the layby off the A41 just before Waddesdon Village ready to leave at 9.50am for the short drive to the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre so we all drive in together and are parked next to each other. Let me know if you want to come and I will put you on the list and e-mail you final details nearer the time. 19 cars in our group. Booking Closed.

13. Sunday 15 September - Carter's Steam Fair at Croxley Green - P6s ONLY. 9 P6s in our group so far.

14. Saturday 2 November - London's Regent Street to see the Veteran Cars – Leave your P6 behind and come by rail, tube or foot. More the merrier! 6 people so far.

15. Saturday 16 November - Classic Motor Show at the NEC Birmingham - (Booking not yet underway). There will be club discounts for tickets. 2 people so far.

16. Tuesday 10 December - Christmas Dinner at the Case is Altered - (Booking not yet underway) - P6s optional.

Some of us meet at the Case is Altered and go together to the outings, some join us on route and some make their own way.

Tuesdays 8 January, 12 March, 14 May, 9 July, 10 September and 12 November 2013[/b] - The bi-monthly get-togethers at the Case is Altered commencing at 8pm on the second Tuesday of every odd month. http://www.mcmanuspub.co.uk/index.php?p ... d-ambience

Location: About 15 minutes from the M1, M25 AND M40 The Case is Altered is on the B466 out of Pinner Green. Coming from Hatch End you follow the A404 Uxbridge Road to the traffic lights at Pinner Green. Turn left at these lights towards Pinner. After a couple of hundred yards turn right into West End Lane. After about 300 yards turn fight into High View. At the end of High View turn left into Cuckoo Hill (B466) which becomes Eastcote High Road (B466). You will see the pub on your right about 2 minutes drive after turning into the B466. It is set back from the road immediately before Southill Lane.

1. On Sunday 24 February 2013 from 10am to 4pm - The first outing of 2013 to Rover Day at Whitewebbs Museum, Enfield, Middlesex, EN2 9HW - http://www.whitewebbsmuseum.co.uk

2. On Sunday 21 April 2013 - An all day outing on Drivers Day, Sunday 21 April 2013 to the DeHavilland (Mosquito) Museum near junction 22 of the M25, M1, A1M, AND M40. This is a major event similar to our outing to Brooklands on Drive it Day in April 2011 and the RRAF Museum in April 2012. The museum has kindly arranged a special area for our cars. P6s and older Rovers welcome. There will be a charge per head payable in advance which will include a guided tour of the museum. http://www.dehavillandmuseum.co.uk/

3-5. On Saturday 25th, Sunday 26th and Monday 27 May 2013 - Outings to the 3 day Enfield Pageant of Motoring at Enfield Playing Fields, Enfield, North London with its rows and rows of autojumble and large numbers of classic cars. The P6ers from the Case is Altered have their own display stand with 10 cars on display on the Sunday and Monday and up to 5 cars on display on the Saturday as it is set-up day. This is the big show in North London which is easily accessible from the A1M, M25,M1 and M40.

6. On Sunday 9 June 2013 - Outing to the all day Luton Festival of Transport at Stockwood Park, Luton, LU1 4LXS which is not far from Junction 10 of the M1. It is expected to have 3 adjacent areas (one for our P6s,one for SDIs, and one for the older Rovers) amongst the many classic cars on display at the show. I have applied for 30 tickets. The SDI club and the P4 Drivers Club have also applied for tickets and we hope to have 30- 50 cars in our shared display area.

7. On Sunday 30 June 2013 - Celebrate 50 years of the P6 at the Rover P6 Club National Rally at Coughton Court. (Booking now underway – this is a joint event with the Rover Sports Register ). Local P6s meeting at Case is Altered for the drive to the magnificent Coughton Court in Warwickshire. A splendid mostly Elizabethan country House. http://www.coughtoncourt.co.uk . Booking is not via me but through the booking form in the Rover P6 Club magazine.

8. On Saturday 6 July 2013 - 10.30am to 5pm - SE Rover Rally - Petworth, Sussex. The 2013 Rally will be held from 10.00am at the “Petworth Fete in the Park”, Petworth House. There will be no charge for entry the park although entry to our rally will be £3.00 per car. Entry to Petworth House itself will be free to National Trust members, at present no discount has been negotiated for non-members.The Fete in the Park, organised by the Petworth & District Community Association and the National Trust, was first held in 2006, and over the years has grown in popularity. Held in the glorious setting of Petworth Park, the fete is a real community event. There is something for all the family including a fairground, hog roast, musical bands, street theatre and craft stalls. Local groups have a variety of stalls to fundraise and promote what they do, and the whole event sponsors a local charity each year. Since 2010, the day has ended with a free concert in the evening and it is hoped this will take place again this year so you may wish to consider a later departure. The event has its own classic car display but we will be running ours in our own area in our usual style, so we will add an additional display/attraction. Several of us will meet at the Case is Altered between 7.50am and 8am and travel from there to Petworth stopping off at the Bacon Butty breakfast bar on the A283 at between approx. 9.20 and 9.50. The Bacon Butty is on the right after a sharp bend in the road 2 miles after Northchapel and 1 mile before Petworth. 9. On Sunday 21 July 2013 - Outing to the wonderful all day Uxbridge Auto Show just off Park Road, Uxbridge near where the A40 becomes the M40 with its large number of attendees, entertainment in the arena and splendid autojumble. As usual a reserved area will be available for P6s on a first apply basis. A payment of £5 towards charity will be required per car at time of booking as well as a stamped addressed envelope. This very popular event has limited places so if you want to book early to ensure a place let me know by e-mail/pm me as soon as possible and I will send you payment details etc by return of e-mail. I will hold your place on the list when I receive your e-mail as long as you let me have the the payment (expected to be £5 per car) by the time detailed in my return e-mail.

9(a) On Friday 26 July to Sunday 28 July - Silverstone Classic at Siverstone. More details idc. No group attendance as insufficient interest.


10. On Wednesday 7 August 2013 - Outing to an optional lunch at the lovely Coach and Horses Inn on the Green at Croxley Green near Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire followed by Classics on the Green at Croxley Green at Croxley Green in the afternoon and / or evening. An area for P6s will be grabbed by those who lunch at the Coach and Horses and those who get to the Coach and Horses before we leave there for at 2.30pm for the 3 minute drive into the show area.

11. On Sunday 11 August 2013 - Outing to Classics on the Common at Ley Hill in Bucks from midday to 4pm. Ley Hill is a small village between Bovingdon and Chesham on the Herts Buks borders where we expect to be able to line up our P6s next to each other. This excellent little show has as many different classics as some of the much larger shows, just fewer of each marque. The location is superb and the barbeque and drinks very reasonable. P6s meet at the Case is Altered to leave at 11.05 am for Ley Hill or at the dog walkers car park on the left off the A404 after Chorley Wood Cricket Ground WD3 5SG at 11.25 to await the arrival of those coming from the Case is Altered (N.B. the entrance to the car park is through a gap in the hedge where there are woods on either side of the A404 after Chorley Wood Cricket Ground and before the traffic lights at the turning for Common Road; or at Lee Hill Common ready to join the back of our convoy as we enter the show at approx midday.

12. On Tuesday 13 August 2013 - Outing to the Ace Cafe, London, NW10 7UD for Classic Car Evening. Starts 6pm and ends at 11pm. We have 8 places together in a reserved area immediately in front of the cafe. These attendees must be there for 5.30pm. P6s ONLY. Anyone else can join us but not in our reserved area- come on foot or park outside if no places left inside. Suggest arrive 6.30 onwards if not in reserved area.

We will meet in the layby outside Porky's Café (Postcode HP18 ONF) in Warmstone Layby on the left off the A41 before and just as you see Waddesdon Village when you are proceeding north along the A41. Please be in the layby in plenty of time to to leave at 9.50am for the short journey to the Buckingham Railway Centre at Quainton (postcode HP22 4BY) . Come earlier if you want to use the toilets or have breakfast at Porkys. N.B.The large layby is part of the old A41 so look very carefully for the entrance to it which is on the left just as you see Waddesdon Village in the distance. 13. On Sunday 15 September 2013 - All day outing to Classics on the Green and Carters Steam Fair at Croxley Green near Ricmansworth, Hertfordshire. . A day out for the family. Young or old! :D :D :D This outing is to the marvellous and very popular Classic Car Show and Carters Steam Fair on the Green at Croxley Green near Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire on Sunday 15 September. Bring your P6 to this large show and have a great day out! :D :D :D

14. On Saturday 2 November 2013 - Why not leave your P6 at home and come to London's Regent Streeet to see the veteran cars assembled there before they are driven to Brighton on the following day. We meet Alec Wallis outside Hamleys Toy Shop in Regent Street at 11am. The event ends at 3pm. Come on foot. Nearest tube is Oxford Circus about 5 minutes walk from Hamleys which is on the left hand side of Regent Street going douth from Oxford Circus.

15. On Saturday 9 November 2013 - Come to the Classic Motor Show at the NEC, Birmingham. Cheap tickets available from the Club. Meet at the Club stand at midday.

16. On Tuesday 10 December 2013 - Christmas Dinner at the Case is Altered starting at 7.30pm. Partners, friends and husbands and wives welcome. P6s optional.

I have today, 1 May 2013, updated the P6ers from the Case is Altered 2013 outings list as booking has commenced for the SE Rover Rally at Petworth on 6 July 2013.

SE ROVER RALLY - PETWORTH - INSTRUCTIONS AND ENTRY FORM

You need to:

1. book your place directly with the organiser using the entry form below.

2. let me know by e-mail or pm from this forum whether you will be meeting us at the Case is Altered for the drive to Petworth or would like to meet us at the at the breakfast bar approx. 1 mile from Petworth. Please include your e-mail address in the e-mail or pm and I will get back to you nearer the time with timings for each of the meeting places. Alternatively make your own way to Petworth.

3. There is a breakfast bar open for us on the A283 approximately 2 miles from Petworth House where hot drinks, breakfasts and rolls can be purchased so we plan to stop off there on route. 2 miles after the village of Northchapel there is a sign for “The Bacon Butty” just before a bend in the road. Immediately after the bend in the road turn right into the truckers layby on the opposite side of the road. The Bacon Butty is opening special for us. Those coming from the Case is Altered expect to be at the Bacon Butty about 9.20. We will leave there about 9.50 for the short drive to Petworth.

4.Anyone going to Petworth is welcome to join us at the Case is Altered which is about 15 minutes from the M1, M25 and M40. If you have not already done so please let me know your Name and Rover model if you are joining us at the Case is Altered. If you are coming from Essex, Herts, Bucks, NW london or indeed anywhere why not drop in on the way!

If you have not been to the Case is Altered before this is where it is:

Places for all 3 days of the Enfield Pageant of Motoring in May have now all been taken and booking has closed. Event 9 the Uxbridge Auto Show is also now fully booked.

I HAVE TODAY UPDATED THE OUTINGS LIST

:D :D NOW IS THE TIME TO BOOK FOR THE MARVELLOUS LUTON FESTIVAL OF TRANSPORT ON SUNDAY 9 JUNE. Unfortunately the Vauxhall's Luton motor Museum will not be opening specially for us this year but you can visit the Discovery Centre in Stockwell Park containing the large Mossman collection of Horse drawn vehicles which will be open with free entry and is only a short walk from the Festival of Transport area. WE ALREADY HAVE 33 Rovers including 21 P6s ON OUR SHARED STAND WITH THE P4s AND SD1s :D :D

Do join the 21 P6s already coming to the Luton Festival of Transport.

The P6ers from the Case is Altered 2013 outings fill up up fast. If you are not booked into any of our 2013 events and want to come along then contact me by e-mail or pm me on the forum which sends your message to my e-mail address. Please include your own e-mail address and phone number in the message.

Contact me if you want to bring your P6 out on Sunday 25 August for the outing to the marvellous Rover Car Rally at the Buckingham Railway Centre at Quainton, Buckinghamshire. HP22 4BY. This all Rover event is organised by our friends from the Rover P4 Drivers Guild. If not already on my list to attend and you want to come let me know asap. Entrance is £3 per person payable to the Rover P4 Drivers Club warden after arrival in the dedicated car park area. It is tremendous value as the £3 ticket also gives entry to the area where the trains are including rides on all the trains, a museum, catering and toilets. We show is from 10am –5pm with prizes and raffle about 4pm. The P6s will try and meet somewhere on route not far from Quainton Village about 9.50am so we all drive in together. Let me know if you want to come and I will put you on the list and e-mail you final details nearer the time.

N.B. Booking has ended for events 1 - 9 and is in progress for events 10-13 but has not yet opened for event 14-16. On Wednesday 7 August 2013 our outing is to an optional lunch at the lovely Coach and Horses Inn on the Green at Croxley Green near Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire followed by Classics on the Green at Croxley Green in the afternoon and / or evening. An area for P6s will be grabbed by those who lunch at the Coach and Horses and those who get to the Coach and Horses before we leave there for at 2.30pm for the 3 minute drive into the show area. We have 10 P6s coming at the moment. Please contact me if you want to join them.

The outings list has been updated today Saturday 10 August 2013. The main updates which include meeting times and places are as follows:

Classics on the Common at Ley Hill on Sunday 11 August:
This is the wonderful annual outing to Ley Hill in Buckinghamshire for Classics on the Common. P6s meet at the Case is Altered (postcode HA5 2EQ) to leave at 11.05 am for Ley Hill or at the dog walkers car park on the left off the A404 after Chorley Wood Cricket Ground WD3 5SG at 11.25 to await the arrival of those coming from the Case is Altered (N.B. the entrance to the car park is through a gap in the hedge where there are woods on either side of the A404 after Chorley Wood Cricket Ground (postcode WD3 5SG)and before the traffic lights at the turning for Common Road; or at Lee Hill Common (postcode HP5 1UT) ready to join the back of our convoy as we enter the show at approx midday Please contact me if you want to join them.

All Rover Rally at Buckingham Railway Centre on Sunday 25 August:

The show is from 10am –5pm with prizes and raffle about 4pm. The P6s will meet not far from Quainton Village so we all drive in together. We will meet in the layby outside Porky's Café (Postcode HP18 ONF) in Warmstone Layby on the left off the A41 before and just as you see Waddesdon Village when you are proceeding north along the A41. Please be in the layby in plenty of time to to leave at 9.50am for the short journey to the Buckingham Railway Centre at Quainton. . Come earlier if you want to use the toilets or have breakfast at Porkys. N.B.The large layby is part of the old A41 so look very carefully for the entrance to it which is on the left when travelling north on the A41 just as you see Waddesdon Village in the distance. Let me know if you want to come and I will put you on the list and e-mail you final details nearer the time.

Location: Between Watford and Rickmansworth on the Village Green at Croxley Green not far from the M1, M25 and M40. The Green, Croxley Green, Hertfordshire, WD3 3HX

Either meet at the Case is Altered, Eastcote High Road, Pinner at 9.30am for latest 9.45am departure to Croxley Green to arrive at the show about 10.05 to 10.15am

Or meet at the Coach and Horses on the Green at Croxley Green. Those coming from the Case is Altered will reach the Coach and Horses pub on the Green at Croxley Green between 10am and 10.10am. The pub is 2 minutes from the show. If you want to join us there and enter the show with us so as to ensure we are all parked together please be outside the Coach
and Horses in your P6 by 10am.If you are coming please e-mail/pm me via the forum to let me know whether you will be coming to the Case is Altered or meeting outside the Coach and Horses.
