Painting wheels

hi there,
My steel wheels need painting and are black. Is this a standard colour for the Rover steel wheels?
I have almost 4 liters of Post office RED enamel , left over from repainting my restored International A414 tractor and although not the absolute correct colour to match the car, would it be considered OK to use that paint on the wheels? When the wheel trims are installed, only a tiny line of paint is seen. Or do you think that I am being too fussy on a trivial matter?
A friend has a Morgan 4/4 and gets underneath the car to polish his stainless steel exhaust system from time to time, now that is taking things to the extreme in my opinion ?o_O

I have occasionally seen P6 wheels in red where only that thin line of colour is visible. It's down to personal preference but I can't say that I'm a fan.
I did have a grey wheel on mine for a while, and quite liked the look of that, though decent condition black ones are still preferable in my opinion. POR15 black paint does the job and is very tough.

thank you all for your replys... I have used POR15 before, but if its not covered with a clear coat it fades in strong sunlight. It is incredibly strong, you can knock it with a hammer and not chip it. I used it on my Chevrolet std chassis many years ago.
I am leaning to using the Post office red, because I have it in quantity, I also have some black enamel left over too.
Life is full of so many decisions, maybe I should have a shot a the next presidential elections? cant be harder than my present predicament?
