Hello All,

Anyone got a non leaking radiator for a 2200sc auto, mine has sprung a large leak (2 years after refurb)!

Using the car a lot at the moment so bit of a nuisance.

cheers,

richard.

I have a spare auto radiator. No idea if it’s from a 2000, or a 2200. Is there a difference?

Also no idea if it leaks or not, or if the oil cooler matrix any good, so maybe not what you’re after. It’s used, not new. It’s been in the shed since I bought the car, as my car’s a manual.

South Lincs, just north of Peterborough.

I’ve just dug it out of the shed. It’s not the best looking thing, there’s some dents on the matrix, and a few bent fins. One of the studs on the top is no longer captive in the top rail. This could be fixed if it’s re-cored, but would bake tightening the bracket awkward as is. It’s also been sat for at least 10 years with the oil cooler ports uncapped.

£25 alright? Seems to be about the going rate on eBay for a radiator for re-coring.

Hi Tom,

Appreciate you digging it out, it does look different from mine, plus I think as you are a fair way from me I would be better to take mine off which looks brand new as it was only done 2 years ago and get it re-cored, thanks for your efforts and pictures it really is appreciated.

No effort really. Tidying the shed was one of the lockdown jobs, so i knew where it was and it wasn’t too difficult to get at.

This one looks the same as the one on my TC, apart from the ports for the transmission oil cooler. What does yours look like? I think some of the earlier cars (series 1, 2000etc) had something slightly different.

AFAIK 2000 and 2200 rads are the same (bearing in mind that auto and manual are different), but they are all crossflow, early cars are vertical flow.

Geoff at winns came up trumps, I picked up a radiator that he had in from a scrap car that had had a new rad not long before it came off the road, plus picked up a water pump to replace my slightly noisy one. Both fitted and all good so far.

Even runs a bit cooler (currently).
