Rear Shock dimensions

As shipping from the UK to Canada pretty much doubles the price of new shocks,does anyone have the extended and compressed measurements for rear shocks?
I’d like to find a cheaper alternative locally if possible

Check to see if you have Koni brand shocks fitted as they are servicable and repairable (by Koni agent).

As are Bilsteins....but they are very unlikely on a P6!

They are Spax,as I said in my post the shipping of heavy items to and from the UK isn’t cheap,hence my search for a local,ie North American source

If you had Koni's John, you would not need to ship from the UK as you could have had them repaired locally, hence the reason behind Mike's prompt.

I think your best bet is to call around the local suppliers to you and see what they can help you with.

That’s my plan, but I would still like the dimensions as most auto parts suppliers don’t even know what a Rover is let alone have any kind of parts listing for them.
Its a different world over here for orphan British cars,if I still had my MG,parts aren’t a problem as Moss has everything you can imagine,but that’s not the case for Rover.

I just need the mounting measurements extended and compressed that way I might be able to find something of another vehicle

Standard diameter is only 1". Try to get the fattest ones you can as they work pretty hard and standards don't last long if your doing country miles, particulalry on unsealed roads. The mounting rubbers also need to be broad or they disintegrate and the shock rod wears the hole.

Actually its probably worthwhile checking this hasn't already happened as it seriously downgrades the shocks performance.
