As shipping from the UK to Canada pretty much doubles the price of new shocks, does anyone have the extended and compressed measurements for rear shocks?
I’d like to find a cheaper alternative locally if possible
Cheers,John
They are Spax,as I said in my post the shipping of heavy items to and from the UK isn’t cheap, hence my search for a local,ie North American source

That’s my plan, but I would still like the dimensions as most auto parts suppliers don’t even know what a Rover is let alone have any kind of parts listing for them.
Its a different world over here for orphan British cars,if I still had my MG,parts aren’t a problem as Moss has everything you can imagine, but that’s not the case for Rover.
Cheers John
Standard diameter is only 1". Try to get the fattest ones you can as they work pretty hard and standards don't last long if your doing country miles, particulalry on unsealed roads. The mounting rubbers also need to be broad or they disintegrate and the shock rod wears the hole.
Actually its probably worthwhile checking this hasn't already happened as it seriously downgrades the shocks performance.
