Recommended battery for p6 2200 tc

I find for a 1966 Rover 2000 a battery for a 2005 Hyundai Elantra works well. But your car has the battery in the boot so you may have more of a physical limitation there!

I got mine from CPC batteries in Surbiton Surrey. The owner of the company had a P6 back in the day and he knew the correct battery that not only fitted in the box but that also had the terminals the right way round. Not a bad price either I seem to remember. Their number is 02083971813
Might be worth asking to speak to the owner if who ever answers the phone says a P what:hmm:? Good luck

I need one for a V8. When I searched online I found that Mark Grey recommends a Bosch S4 024 for both V8 and 2200. But my current battery has the terminals the other way around. it wouldn't be too difficult to adjust the cables but does anyone know which way they were originally aligned? I get my batteries for all our vehicles from Tayna batteries, Abergele, who do 24hr mail order and seem to offer better value than any local garage or factor.

This is the battery I have. This battery is available with the terminals either way around. It fits perfectly ina NADA car but the battery box is different. I have recommeded it to other P6 owners with no issues except for one person who said it was too big and wouldn't fit. Buyer beware I guess! The cage fits perfectly around the top of the bettery so I see no reason why it shouldn't fit but I have never tried in a UK spec car.

I haven’t yet found one above 60ah that would fit into the box. I’d prefer a 65 or even 70 but they all seem to be just a few millimetres too long.

My battery has the terminals arranged in the same way.

I bought my battery from my local autoparts shop. He had the same battery in stock with the terminals the other way around too!!

Good news: Tayna have the Yuasa battery at £61.99 inc vat plus £7.98 delivery. Bad news: spec shows size to be 269mm long, but my battery box is only 260, and also tapers smaller towards the bottom!

Sparky's battery just died on a Roundabout in Rotherham. I had him recovered to a garage who fitted a new one for £50.00.

No fuss, no hassle, it just worked.

amongst all the extra stuff i collected from Flynn were a good dozen battery clamp brackets. When i came to fit a nice new looking one to my car I found that nearly all of them were a few millimetres too short and a tad wider. There were about two or three with extra length in them, all second hand units. I suspect battery sizing went metric at some point with added length and less width....
