So I got the barrel out and new Oring onto the barrel but when I go to place the barrel back inside I can't press it right the way in to where the screw will need to sit I need some kind of clamp or something to press the barrel back in? But no grips or anything will fit in the tight gap am I doing something wrong here? Or I just need to create some kinda contraption to press the barrel back in?Leave the pipes connected, leave the inner cable connected to the lever, loosen the outer cable clamp to remove the cable from that, remove the screw and pull the barrel out of the tap with the inner cable still connected to the lever. replace the seal and RITRORP
I have completely removed the the locating screw I get it mostly in but then seems to get stuck about 5mm from being fully inside. Me and 2 others have tried to push it in with fingers or grips but nothing seems to move it I only removed the top hose could that be the issue?I've not had any problems refitting the barrel other than it being a bit tighter because of the new "O" ring. Have you removed the locating screw completely?
I coated it in oil but it just won't fully push in even with rotation it feels like it's hitting a lipHave you lubricated the "O" ring to help it squeeze in to fit, mine just slipped in with moderate hand pressure, rotating slightly backwards & forwards.
That was exactly the problem thankyou I ordered a proper one instead of eyeballing the size this time and all fit as it should...haven't seen a leak yet hopefully it stays that waySounds like the new O ring is not the correct size.
