Hi All,
I think my P6 is possessed ie having just finally got to the bottom of my no rhd indicator fault after many hours! (a new relay cured this) now someone has told me that my reverse lights are on whilst driving:oops: I don't know how long its been like this as i have never noticed whilst driving but i did change the rear wings a couple of years ago and without sounding like a novice ie i have had P6's since 1986 so i do know a bit about them i think:hmm: so any quick pointers please before i start checking the wiring inhibitor switch etc thanks in advance :thumb:

Sounds like your reverse light switch could be playing up - can you get to it?

Mine's an LT77 so I only really know where my switch is, what gearbox do you have?

Never had an auto so don't know where the switch is, or how to adjust it, or even if you can.

If you can get to it, and have a multimeter: -

1. With both wires connected and ignition on, try to see if you get the red multimeter probe into the joint of the power wire - probably green. This should be live.

2. With the gearbox in neutral or any gear except reverse, try to get the probe into the output wire - probably green/brown. This should be dead, although it may be live as your reversing lights are on.

3. If live, disconnect the green wire and check the green/brown. If dead, switch is at fault, if live, you have another problem between the switch and the rear lights.

Thanks for that i will give it a go tomorrow hopefully :thumb:
