Hello everyone. Some of you may know me from other car fora, especially those with a Rover/ARG/MG/BL/BMC flavour - especially www.Rover800.info/forum

I chiefly signed to express my sorrow at the death of Richard Taylor but will also try to become a part of the forum in general. I don't actually own a classic Rover, but have an MGCGT, a Rover 100 (Metro). mk1 MG Metro and my wife has a 216 DOHC cabrio (Honda engined). I also recently bought an 825 diesel on an impluse. All that is well and good, but as I live and work in Abu Dhabi I don't really get to have much contact with them!

Welcome to the forum Richard.

I see several classic or Neo classic rovers in that bunch :)

Rich.

Guy, with 4 cars back in the UK and 3 here in the UAE, I'm probably just about at the limit of sanity! A bit more about some of them.......

Nice selection Richard, is that a spitfire as your avatar? My first car was a 1964 spitty sadly went missing in the late 80's :(

Edit must be the mgcgt put my eyes back in

The avatar is of his MGCGT!

He and I chatted about a deal a while ago,but he already has a Jag!

Welcome Richard.
Nice fleet you have accumulated!
Sold the XK8 and now got myself a 1954 MGTF1500 to play with.

Pilkie - I saw the info about the TF on the Classics Monthly forum. The CGT is still for sale if you change your mind.........

hi Richard.

Nice to see you here, whatever the circumstances.

I have very happy memories of my MGC roadster, which I used to road rally in the years after I left college. A very remarkable car, absolutely transformed by the simplest of modifications (have you tried removing the ngine driven fan? Or reshimming the front wishbones for a bit of positive camber?).
Regards

Chris

Chris: I've already got a Kenwood fan on the car, thanks to the original shedding a couple of blades and ripping up the radiator. I think that it could do with something a bit bigger, though, perhaps with better ducting. I also fitted a bigger front anti-roll bar and Spax gas dampers all round and that made a huge difference, especially when combined with modern tyres.

pilkie: PM on the way shortly.
