Rover 3500 kitset scale models.

My 10 year old son is getting right into kitset models at the moment, and he'd like to make one of the P6 (preferably a Series 2 3500 in Tobacco Leaf, with SD1 mags). I'm sure I've seen one or two kitsets on the net in the past, but I've been unable to turn anything up during a peruse tonight. Does anybody have any info?

There is nothing readily available. If you scour Ebay religiously for years you may come across an extremely rare Outhouse models resin kit in 1:24 scale. I have also seen a couple of simple kits in smaller scales; 1:43 resin by Vulcan models, 1:43 white metal by Mikansue models and a 1:76 white metal by Springside models, but none of them were mass produced and almost never come up for sale. :(
Just buy a current Corgi, dismantle it and dip it in paint stripper and voila! Kitset! :D
Or better still, get him a 1:1 scale kit. Start 'em young and he'll have it finished by the time he can drive it.

Somehow I missed that other thread when I searched! I've seen the Outhouse models on the net, but I'd already figured out they were rare. The P6 is a reasonably significant car; I'd have thought it would have received kitset treatment by now.

Don't mention a 1:1 for the boy, Al. His mother would slaughter me while I lay sleeping.
