Securon Inertia Reel Rear Seat Belts - what am I missing?

Doing this now. Have a 254 in hand. If I try to mount it flat the adjusting knob thing (that changes the angle it will unreel at) fouls the side trim, on the RHS of the car. It should work fine on the LHS . Is there a 254 with the adjuster on the LHS? I like Demetris' set up, as it will avoid the belt rubbing on the seat squab top...but how would you do that extra hole on the LHS, with the tank filler hose in there?
Colin Gould did mine with a lot of other work. I'll take a picture.

For the reasons explained by roverp480 above, i would not advise you to follow the mounting method that appears in my photos. As i understand the factory mounting points were designed for static belts, therefore when we try to fit inertia belts there are one or more problems. My intention now is to create new mounting points with wide thick plates and cuptive nuts under the parcel shelf. And yes, you have to remove the tank filler hose to work in this area.

I think I can use the std mount on the left side, as the knob wont foul there. Going to try a spacer on the RHS to lift the knob enough to prevent fouling.

Got RHS fitted, with a spacer to lift the knob clear of the trim. No chance of tightening the bolt without my half-moon spanner! Couldnt find the right size for a bit but it eventually appeared. Now to order another belt for the LHS....didnt order until I was sure it was going to work. Strange bolt head sizes - counting the 3 I removed from the original static belts I seem to have them in 5/8, 11/16 and 3/4" - ???
I would have normally bolted the free end of the belt (on outside of seat squab) with the belt attached at the top...but the thick trim is in the way. Checked the static belt attachment on the LHS, and its fitted with the belt attachment facing down, so it clears the trim, and then comes upwards. Is this normal, or is my trim non-std - all the carpets have been replaced in the recent past???
