Spare wheel on Bootlid or Not?

After a couple of glasses of vino I have come up with the following cunning plan.
If you love the look of a boot mounted spare, and I do................
Obtain some 100mm thick Celotex board and cut a couple of spare wheel sized circles, glue together and cover with the tyre cover and mount on boot lid. Buy an inflator and goo kit, ditch all the heavy spare wheel kit and have the best of both worlds, an uber cool P6, that goes round corners like a go kart !!!
 
I quite like the look of the bootlid spare wheel, but have never used mine as the Vitesse alloy doesn't fit the adapter. I got the kit and fitted it as I bought an LPG tank which I hoped would fit into spare wheel space in the boot and I didn't want to lose all of my boot space. I never got round to converting to LPG though. Love the badge though, looks great :)
