Spares car

I've bought a new car :)

Ok, it's an old car, and my idea was, that if it wasn't too badly damaged, I would put it back on the road.

After a good look round this morning, it really isn't fixable.

Puncture repair kit?

Speedo doesn't work

Bad news, the car got so hot, the rear light surrounds melted and dripped onto the rear bumper, good news, its got a towbar ! :)

I'll be stripping it for spares, and will put anything I don't need into the 'for sale' section

I was wondering why he had removed the boot lid, but then realised that parts of it were still on there; it had actually melted.

Right, where's my 9/16 Spanner?

:hmm:

If the boot lid and bonnet in the P6s are made from birmabright like the Land Rover skins, then there's no surprise of this outcome.

Those wings & doors look like they were in a really nice condition - couldn’t it have been a rotten one instead.....?

Seriously though; I hope no-one was hurt - it’s just a car after all!

Don't forget to disconnect the battery before you start dismantling, otherwise you might short something out and have it catch fire.....

Cheers H, I'll do that :p

There are bits of it still in the brackets, some in the side rain channels and some melted lumps in the boot.

The back bumper may be ok. :hmm:

It has a crease in it  but the overriders look ok.

Welding accident, so no one was hurt, although the owner was gutted worse than the car. It was apparently in very good condition then a stray spark from the welder, and bang!

Electrics by Crisp and Brown ?

Chard and Black from Burnham-on-Sea :)

I was going to put some V8 parts in 'selling' under the post title, "Get them while they're hot!" :)

Yes, it's let the smoke out. :)

Quite a lot of it apparently

Feel free old chap, any publicity is good publicity :thumb:

real shame .gutting. though surprised welder didn't have a decent fire extinguisher handy and always a risk when welding due to carpets. plastics. paint etc and even undersea.

I nearly bought this car god I doged a bullet!

I'm happy with it, if I could find some time that is.

I have a spare LT177 with all of the bits, very nice engine with a four barrel and manifold, tow bar, suspension bits, wheels, S/S exhaust, and more

Do you still have this gearbox?

I do indeed. I bought the car because I really could do with a spare LT77, I may even look at rebuilding it with some tougher bits if I ever get the time.
