Sparky's winter/spring/summer/autumn work

Cheers all

Good idea Stina, don't ask

The piping is as close to Lunar Grey (light sage) that I could get. I like the idea of the piping picking up the external colour of the car. I can't remember where I saw it, but I think it was a Monza red car with Red piping on a black seat. Looked very nice so I copied him :)

Nice to have a heater that works, wipers that park themselves, etc.

Richard

Wow! those seats look lovely! It looks like the trimmer's done a very good job of them , so I could forgive him for not knowing how the mechanisms work

Will

That Lunar Grey piping really raises those seats to the class above! I've always thought plain black interiors lacked a certain something - now I know what it is!

Chris

:? You've raised the bar with those seats and door cards and carpets. Nice. I'm more than a little bit envious, actually.

Thanks all - I did copy someone else though (I think it was a Monza Red car from Newcastle, though not 100% sure). I do remember thinking at the time that I would like that for Sparky.

Seats fully fitted now and been up to Tesco for some Momentum - yum :)

Sparky's had a wash as well, so is looking all clean and shiny. This is the first time I have seen the roof, fitted, outside in daylight and I am happy with the finish, very happy in fact 8)

I'll have to get some close ups later.

Just needs a good polish to protect him from the elements then looking forward to going to a show.

Popped down to Rotherham with the the wife earlier and was accosted going into a shop by a chap whose 'dad had one of those'. Then another one who drooled on the car :x and was stunned by the condition. By the time I finished chatting to these two and waving at the people peeping their horns at us, Wendy had finished shopping and was loading the boot.

It is very nice to have Sparky back on the road, so much so that I can't see him having the winter off any more :)

Going to do some polishing now

Richard

It must be really satisfying to know its not just on here who appreciate all you have done with sparky and well deserved I might add

That is one beautiful car, I wouldn't know whether to drive it, or just pull up a chair and drool at it for a few hours first. Calls for a drive down a high street with big reflective windows methinks.

and with the windows down listening to the V8 soundtrack

Ok ok , have you two been peeking

On the way back from Tescos I went a couple of miles out of my way so that I could drive down the high street  and have a quick glance at Sparky's reflection as I passed the shop windows. How sad is that :D and how old am I?

Richard

We've all done it Richard  I always drive down our narrow high street before I park up, just to hear the burble.

Sparky looks stunning Richard, I love the seats too. I'm curious though, does it still smell like an old Rover (You know what I mean) with all that new leather in there?

Thanks all :)

I am very pleased with its finished look, although it will never really be finished. (they never are)

Nope. The fusty old car smell has all but gone and now just smells of opulence and leather. I am not quite sure if I like that, but the smell of burning oil has gone too (gearbox and clutch slave sorted), so that's a bonus.

There are still a few odd smells and noises which I will either get used to or sort, but I will drive it around or a while now so that it will all bed in and settle down.

Looking forward to some shows now (I went to one yesterday - it was two miles away, I couldn't help myself)

Blimey, haven't seen this thread for a while - just read through it 8) did I really do all that?

Sorry Brook, they are all gone now.

There are usually some on ebay, bit pricey though
